Raffle Post - Just for Fun

It's been a while since I posted a blog entry. Well, a lot has been going on around here. I've been quiet, but busy =) My husband, our cats and I just moved to an urban farm! With chickens! I'm still setting up the sewing room, but as soon as that's ready there will be pictures. For now, here's a picture that my husband took of the chickens.

While I'm at it, I might as well make this a raffle post, right? The prize is $10 store credit as usual and the topic is... something fun this time.

Years ago, before any of us were married or had kids, my three sisters and I used to go down to the local bingo hall for a good time. It was always hilarious, I don't even know why. We usually had to go sit in the back because we laughed so much. We never won. The bingo hall is long gone now, but I was reminded of it when I came across a UK-based online bingo site called Cheeky Bingo. I can't play, being in the US, but it looks like it would be fun. I might try it when we travel in the UK in the future.

What's something you used to do for fun that you haven't had a chance to do in a while? Answer in the comments to be entered in the raffle! A winner will be randomly drawn on March 31 using this random number picker. One comment per person will be counted. The prize is $10 Store Credit.

Summer fun

When I was younger I used to go down to Florida every summer to visit my grandparents and my cousins. My grandparents would set up a tent in their backyard and we would "camp" outside at least once a week. It was a rather large tent so there was room for tables and games, it was so much fun!

At my parent's house, we have a tarzan rope. It wasn't too far away from the house, so with a good swing, I was able to touch the wall with my feet or hand. I loved it. The rope is still there, but it been a while since someone use it...

Traipsing through the forests

Traipsing through the forests and climbing trees without fear were some big highlights. Sometimes I get really nostalgic...

My dad grew up on reservation

My dad grew up on reservation territory and was always teaching me to make things like dream catchers and other native-inspired jewelry, but the dream catchers were my favorite. I never actually believed that they worked but they were a lot of fun to make and it was something I could give to friends as gifts and actually be proud of my creations. I haven't done that in ages because I've never actually taken time to gather the pieces I'd need.

Ceramics!

I used to love making ceramic bowls and masks when I was a kid. I would spend all day on my kid-sized wheel creating different things with clay. I recently looked into adult ceramics classes in my area. I would love to learn real techniques and different styles. I've even thought about how awesome it would be to create my own ceramic soak bucket. One day!

fun thing to do

When I was a kid, I used to live in a small village in the countryside, so whenever the weather was nice and I wanted some peace of mind away from my family, I went on little trips. I rode my bike or wore my rollerskates and went exploring in the village and the nearby forest and fields. It was like an adventure to me.
