Welcome!

Thank you for visiting Amy's Rag Bag!

I am making what I call "pieces of pad." They're like puzzle pieces - you combine them in various ways to build your own multi-part pad. To see what I mean, please browse the Descriptions and Specs.

You've got a lot of options if you're going to try these pads, but links to the left will guide you through information that can help you determine which pieces you might like to try. If you're still unsure or don't have time to do a lot of reading, you can fill out the Consultation Form and I'll get back to you with my recommendations.

Another way to get an idea of what these pads are like is to pick up a sampler set at my etsy store for a discounted price. If you like the samplers, you can add any of the individually sold pieces you see here to create more pads. I don't always have listings at Etsy, but I will make some upon request.

Because I use reclaimed materials, I'm always getting new fabrics from different sources. This often leads to the invention of new pads. I also develop new patterns based on suggestions from customers. If it's been a while since your last visit, you may want to browse my blog to find out what's changed recently.

Thanks again for stopping by, and please contact me if you have any questions.

I sent an email last night to confirm all the orders. Please check your bulk folder if you haven't seen it. One email address bounced, so please contact me if that was you and I'll resend.

Three Hundred and Eighty

Submitted by laura on Thu, 10/02/2008 - 07:12

I had no idea so many people were hurting for pads. On the first day of my freegan experiment, I received orders for 380 pieces. I think I'm going to have to stop taking orders until I have these filled, and then I'll decide whether to open up shop for paying or non-paying customers. I want to continue to do the freegan thing, but I may ask for help from other like-minded pad makers.

If you've already filled out the consultation form I will email you a link to the order form but it'll be closed to everyone else until I'm caught up. Thanks for your patience.

Freegan for a Week

Submitted by laura on Tue, 09/30/2008 - 10:31

For the first week of October, all the orders I fill will be free. Payment options on the order form will be disabled.

There is one rule I ask you to follow in order to claim your free pads: Don't take more than you need. If you already have enough cloth pads to get you through your period, please don't take advantage. My goal is for every pad to be a needed pad.

Please don't feel obligated to compensate me, but if you'd like you may send me stuff like baked goods, zines, fabric, handmade items.

If this offer doesn't get abused too much, I may be able to keep it going for longer than a week or I could do it again at another time.

To learn more about freeganism and why I'm doing this, please check out http://freegan.info.
